{"id":243,"date":"2014-04-17T06:36:08","date_gmt":"2014-04-17T06:36:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.blog.savn.tv\/?p=243"},"modified":"2014-04-28T17:20:57","modified_gmt":"2014-04-28T17:20:57","slug":"day-9-traveling-with-the-general","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.blog.savn.tv\/?p=243","title":{"rendered":"Day 9 &#8211; General William Booth College in Harare"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size: medium\">I know I\u2019ve only been here for 9 days, and I\u2019ve certainly not traveled the entire country, but I am going to make an assessment based on my encounters and experiences with the locals to date, and that is, Zimbabweans are happy, joyful people and their joyful happy spirit is contagious.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium\">Our team has been blessed to travel to Harare and Victoria Falls and the communities of Tinde, Chinoyi, Muphuirnga, Mvurwi and Chiweshe and without exception our encounters have been inspiring and unique, engaging and memorable.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium\">We\u2019ve met Salvationists along our journey in every community. Shopkeepers, hotel workers, Air Zimbabwe employees and grocery store clerks \u2013 all have introduced themselves as being Salvationists \u2013 indeed, Soldiers and all have one thing in common \u2013 they were happy and joyful.<\/span><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.blog.savn.tv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/Johns-Posse.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-244\" src=\"http:\/\/www.blog.savn.tv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/Johns-Posse-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"John's Posse\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.blog.savn.tv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/Johns-Posse-300x200.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.blog.savn.tv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/Johns-Posse-767x511.jpg 767w, http:\/\/www.blog.savn.tv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/Johns-Posse.jpg 960w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: medium\">The Zimbabweans joyful spirit and zest for life is also evident in worship. Today, I had the privilege of sharing in the Cadets spiritual day at General William Booth College in Harare and the guests were The General and Commissioner Silvia Cox. The Call to Worship was Psalm 100 and the words of the scripture came alive as all present entered into worship with hearts of \u2018thanksgiving and praise\u2019 all the while lifting \u2018joyful songs\u2019 to the Lord. \u00a0It was an inspiring experience. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium\">(click link below to see and hear joyful singing.)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo.php?v=10152328324835605&amp;set=vb.545185604&amp;type=2&amp;theater\">African Joy<\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium\">Reflecting on worship today, I can only imagine what the Easter congress is going to be like in Gweru as more than 10,000 Salvationists gather to praise and worship the Lord in true Zimbabwean style.
